    Hi sir,
I have a problem regarding a data analysis question. It’s no.13 from the booklet, part d. It seems that the gradient found in the previous part needs to be used here, as implied by the word “therefore”, however I cannot understand which part of the formula specifically corresponds to the gradient and so I’m unable to work it out. Could you explain this, please?
    Thanks in advance.

Hello Skye. The word ‘therefore’ does not imply that you have to use your previous result. We usually use the word ‘hence’ to imply this. However, to answer part d you need to answer part c first because from the gradient you determine lambda and then you use the second given equation to determine the half-life.

Its like you read my mind! You seem to know so much about this,
like you wrote the book in it or something.
I think that you can do with a few pics to drive
the message home a little bit, but other than that,
this is great blog. A great read. I’ll definitely be back.

Hello Clayton, during the vaporization process, energy absorbed is used to change the state of water from liquid into steam. This hidden heat energy is known as the latent heat of vaporization. Meanwhile, no change in temperature is observed:)

    Hi Sir,

I was working the past papers, and found some difficulties in some questions and in certain questions I couldn’t continue working them out. Are you going to collect them or are we going to work them out together?

    Thanks

    • Christopher Busuttil

      October 15, 2013 at 6:17 AM

      Hi Simon,

I don’t usually collect past papers. Instead we discuss all questions in tutorial sessions. So, make sure to bring forward your difficulties during your next tutorial.

      Cheers;)

      Hi Karl,

You should follow the following path:

      Junior college – A level – 1st year – Past papers

At the bottom of the page you should find a link to a list of questions.

Hurry up, you re already late! I will be correcting the list during your tutorial next week.

      Regards.

      Hello Aimee,

By tomorrow I will pdf you your script for Tasks 3 and 4 so that you can have a good look at it. You should then re-submit on separate sheets at secretary’s office by Tuesday noon. You will then sign off and collect final results next Wednesday at 0900.

I hope that this gives you a clear idea what to do.

      Regards,
